Every day around the world, large volumes of scrap are generated, for example, in the form of production or demolition srap. Here, scrap is not just scrap, but an ideal resource that can be returned to the material cycle again and again without any loss in quality. Bearing in mind that our resources are becoming evermore scarce, scrap is an important component in steel production and has an essential and increasing significance within the economic cycle.
Kohl Recycling has been a part of this cycle for more than 70 years. Our many years of experience in the scrap metal business and the associated expertise makes us one of the highest-performing owner-managed companies in the industry. We work with all types of steel and foundry scrap metal from industry, business, trade, demolition and household sources. Whether with a small or large collection point, whether just a few kilograms or many tons - waste is always welcome.
Absolute purity of sorting is the key prerequisite for efficient recycling of scrap. For this reason, goods are sorted on receipt into different qualities and, in the subsequent splitting processes, freed from all foreign bodies. With the help of the most modern of material analysis devices and the specialist knowledge of our employees, we are able to fulfil the high quality requirements of our clients. In accordance with the required analytics, the density and composition of the materials is determined using our semi-mobile arc spark spectrometer. Safeguarding a consistant high level of quality of our products has the greatest priority for us, for this reason, all processes are monitored by our Quality Management.
In order to supply our domestic and foreign clients in the steelworks and foundry sector with appropriately furnace-sized batches of steel scrap and foundry scrap qualities, the received material is prepared with the help of our high-performing recovery systems. A major part of the work is carried out by our stationary scrap shears with a cutting force of 1,000 t, which enables particularly efficient processing of material in order to achieve the desired quality. Once sorted properly and divided into furnace-sized batches, the material impresses with its high quality and homogeneity. In this way, we are able to supply steel works and foundries with any scrap quality desired and we are also able to implement individual recovery procedures for special applications.

We move your material, both by rail and on water, since our premises are not just immediately in the vicinity of the main traffic routes, but also directly on the Mittelland canal. Due to our extensive port facilities, we are able to move large volumes of scrap via water routes within the shortest of times and in an environmentally friendly way. Apart from transportation via water routes, we also have our own hauliers available in the shape of Kohl Logistic. With a large fleet of lorries which currently consists of 40 lorries and a wide variety of containers of all kinds, we are in a position to respond quickly and flexibly to your requirements at any time.
With the help of our high-performing loading equipment, such as excavators, front end loaders and cranes, we are able to quickly and efficiently move large volumes of scrap day after day. The main proportion of this is handled by our extremely-modern excavators which are simply operated by our trained operators who total more than 90 years of experience in handling materials.
